Question: Is a spongy growth attached to the lining of the nose significant? It is black.

Hello Mam.
A spongy growth in the nasal mucosa would be significant and it would point towards a possible fungal growth like Aspergilloma.
I suggest you get it evaluated by an ENT Surgeon who can undertake a detailed examination of your nose and advice accordingly.
There is no need to worry but if it is a growth that too infective it should be evaluated and probably removed.
