Thanks Doctor. So, kidney disease can be cured?
Brief Answer:
Can...as following...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Thank you for following up query. Nice to hear from you again.
1. Stage 2 kidney disease is characterized by GFR ranging from 60 to 89, while kidney function is mildly reduced. So, there are great chances to get cured.
2. Other parameters should be taken into account to evaluate your kidney function and the whole picture:
- presence of protein or blood in urine (proteinuria or hematuria respectively)
- presence of cysts (genetics) or any other malformation?
- creatinine level in blood
- blood pressure
- blood electrolytes
3. Depending on the results of such parameters, the best treatment will be decided.
As I have already explained, the treatment aims to:
- prevent progression of disease
- try to reverse the actual damages (cure what is already damaged)
In other words, as the damages of the kidney are mild, there is higher chance to treat/cure successfully.
Hope it answered to your queries!
