Is Statin Effective At Treating Blockages In The Arteries?
Question: one dr has increased my statin dosage to 40mg, another dr says that the statins have shown no affect on the blockage in my catoro.id (SP?) arteries. what is going on?

Hi,
Statins actually slows down the progress of atherosclerosis disease process in our blood vessels and there by slow down the progression of blockages in the arteries like coronary arteries, carotid arteries.
However it directly has no effect on opening of closed or blocked vessels.
Probably there has been some miss communication thats why this confusion developed.
