Is Std Pain In Testicles Normally A Dull Constant Pain
Question: Is std pain in testicles normally a dull constant pain or is it sharp sudden and come with movment or lifting.
Brief Answer:
Regarding STDs
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.
It could be either dull chronic pain as in low grade chronic infection or it could be severe pain with swelling, redness and fever, hence acute in onset. However not all testicular pain is related to STDs, sometimes the infection is blood borne. Evaluation on history usually suggests STDs as a likely cause if there is a preceding risk exposure (unprotected sex). So history is important along with symptoms like urethral discharge and burning micturation which usually suggest an STD.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

I am having a shooting pain in left testicle that happens with certain movments usualy stretching lifting or sitting motion. This pain usualy only happens during the first hours of the morning then goes away for remainder of the day. However at times I still get a dull aching pain in my groin or lower left back. No swelling, or discharge could this be std related or any idea what it could be?

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Pain on stretching or exertion is unlikely to be due to STDs. It is more likely to be due to musculoskeletal specially in the absence of any discharge, swelling or burning micturation. I suggest you to take an oral anti-inflammatory e.g either ibuprofen or diclofenac for a week. You may consult a surgeon to rule out possibility of hernia.

Hownoften do you get false negatives from q chlamydia and gonorrhea test from a urine sample.......could an std cause prostatitis and could that lead to these symptoms? Also would 1g of azithromycin cure gonorrhea i know its not the recommended drug wjen used alone but how effective would it be?
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
A urine test which is usually a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) and detects genetic material is very sensitive and specific. Prostatitis can be a possibility which can become evident only on examination and urethral massage may be useful technique in such a scenario to confirm the possibility. The drug of choice for gonorrhea is inj ceftriaxone 250mg. Azithromycin 1gm is effective against chlamydia but not always against gonorrhea.
