Is Stress Incontinence A Symptom Of Menopause?
What is it. How is it treated??
Stress incontinence
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
This fluid is most likely the urine which is expelled on coughing.
This happened due to the decreased strength and tone of the pelvic floor muscles leading to stress incontinence of urine.
In postmenopausal state, due to the estrogen hormone depletion, the muscles around urethra get weakened, leading to incontinence of urine once the intraabdominal pressure increases as in coughing, straining.
You can get the diagnosis confirmed by proper examination by an OBGYN specialist and get treatment in form of Keigel exercises and surgery, if required.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
