Is Surgery The Same For Removable Implants?

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Aug 2024
Question: Hello, doctor. I have one tooth that was extracted - a premolar on lower left side, #21 that could use an implant now that the bone graft has set after many months. My oral surgeon is hesitant to do an implant, only because I also have trigeminal neuralgia which this procedure may or may not make worse. My question is about other options. I have heard of removable implants but I believe that is for multiple teeth and not for one tooth? Also, is surgery the same for removable implants?

Brief Answer:
Havint heard of removable implants

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I havint heard of removable implants. It can be removable prosthesis . To my best of knowledge implants will be always fixed and prosthesis over it can be removed. Other options for your case is that bridge to be done using the teeth on the either side of missing space. Removable prosthesis can also be given. Hope you understood what I meant. Thankyou and have a healthy day.
