Is Swelling In My Lower Legs Due To Medication I Take For Bursitis In My Left Hip Like Celebre, Diovan, Atorvastatin, Aspirin And Hydrochlorothiazide?
Celebrex the likely cause
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
Peripheral edema is an adverse effect of celecoxib in 2 % patients. It resolves after stopping the medication and would not require any further workup. With such a short history and no previous complaint of peripheral edema, Celebrex is the likely cause.
However, if it persists then the cardinal causes shoul be looked for and worked up.
The most common cause for such a presentation is related to cirrhosis and renal or cardiac dysfunction. The following workup should be done in consultation with your doctor. Liver function tests, ultrasound abdomen pelvis (to look for liver morphology, other features of CLD e.g ascites, portal hypertension)
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
