Hello and welcome,
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
Evatone tablets contain
estrogen a natural hormone present in our body. It is needed to support the growth of uterine lining making it suitable for the baby to implant. It also causes thinning of the mucus in cervix making it easy for sperms to go up.
However it is used more in the first half of the cycle rather than the second. After ovulation usually
progesterone is used for making the uterine lining suitable for the baby. Some doctors do prefer to use both estrogen and progesterone after ovulation.
The tablet can be taken orally. Take it after meals as it may cause nausea and
vomiting in a few women.
It is not harmful if taken for short term. But it must not be used if there is raised blood pressure, heart problems, migraines, clot disorders,
diabetes and
kidney dysfunction. Your doctor must have examined you before prescribing this drug so she must have evaluated the safety profile before hand.
In any case, kindly discuss the drug once again with your doctor before taking it and also the need to combine it with a progesterone like
duphaston or natural micronised progesterone to help in maintaining the uterine lining.
You may take a dose today in case you are not able to see your doctor today and clarify things tomorrow.
I would also suggest that you keep regular sexual contact every alternate days during the ovulation period to help in getting pregnant.
Wish you all the best in your quest for
pregnancy.
Hope this was helpful.
Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help.
Thanks for using HCM.
Have a good day.
