I can understand your concern regarding the safety of Zolfresh.

Used basically as a hypnotic in the treatment of sleep disturbances, the normal dosage is 10 mg once daily.

Consumption of 40 such tablets amounts to 400 mg which is an over dosage which can result in confusion, excessive sleepiness, decreased breathing, coma and death.

Such case needs immediate care in the ER with resuscitation and administration of specific antidote Flumazenil to reverse the toxic effects of Zolfresh.
