Is The Difficulty Of Passing Stools Indicative Of Intussusception Despite Taking Restoralax?

Question: How do i manage possible intussusception of the large intestine on the left side. It feels like i get partially blocked where it is difficult to pass stools when this is happening and it feels like there is a lump on that side. Are enemas or suppositories safe to use in this case. I have tried restoralax but it feels like it collects on that side causing me a lot of pain. When eat very little i seem to go not bad but when i resume a normal diet it happens again and i cant go. Is it that hard to see on xrays or is it something else.

Brief Answer:
impacted stool.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for asking the query.
Most likely you are having impaction of stool as a reult of severe constipation.fecal impaction is a solid, immobile bulk of human feces that can develop in the rectum as a result of chronic constipation.
Intussusception is a medical emergency in which a part of the intestine folds into the section next to it. It typically involves the small bowel and is a medical emergency X ray alone usually misses the diagnosis hence CT scan is used to make a diagnosis.
As you have already use restorolax intially i would suggest you to go for a CT scan of abdomen to rule out any possible pathology.

Most likely your pain in left side is related to severe constipation.Lumps you are feeling are dried stools. Most likely your stool is stuck in bowel.

So initially go to nearest hospital and get the impacted stool lumps manually removed from rectum by a health care professional.

Once bowel is cleared start taking lactulose 30 ml daily before going to bed.
Take 2tsf of metamucil daily with lots of water.

Right now i won't suggest you to use enema.

Initially at least a CT scan should be done to make a comment on what the problem is.

However as per the narration its most likely impacted fecal lumps.

Hope i answered your query well.
