Is The Incomplete Emptying Of The Bladder Leading To Urine Leakage In A Child A Serious Concern?

Question: Hi My 9 yr old says that after he pees and moves on that he has a little more urine that comes out of he sits. A few drips. It bothers him so he dabs it with toilet paper. He is not circumcised so I don't know if he needs to figure out how to take his time or not wait so long to pee. I have checked his underwear and its not wet so i know it is minimal but it bothers him. What could we do to fix this?

I can understand your concern.

For uncircumcised male children, it is very common for few droplets of urine to come out of the prepuce skin like that after urination.

Please talk the kid out of this situation lovingly with this explanation.
The other option is for his dad to train him to retract the prepuce skin so that the urine droplets fall off and the need for dabbing doesn't arise.

I am afraid that if we leave such behavior unattended, it might turn out to be a risk factor for the future obsessive-compulsive disorder. I am sorry to say this but I have to give my professional opinion keeping your kid's goodwill in mind.
