Is The Pain And Symptoms Of An Abscess Constant Or Intermittent?
Question: would the pain and symptoms of an abscess come and go or stay constant?
Brief Answer:
It will reduce and go completely
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
Abscess symptoms like pain and odema reduce once the treatment is started and subside completely.
If the pain is not reducing then that indicates you are not responding to antibiotics. Either antibiotics needs to be changed or surgical drainage is needed.
Hope I have answered your query. If any further queries are there I would love to help.

what if its in a tooth but hasn't been treated and the symptoms come and go?
Brief Answer:
Then it could be just inflammation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Then it is most probably due to just inflammation. This occur and subscide itself. Most likely due to improper 3rd molar.
Abscess unlikely to subscide by itself. I suggest you to get examined by a dentist and treatment for the same.

my wisdom teeth were already removed and the symptoms are in the front top incisors
Brief Answer:
It could be inflammation there
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It could be repeated inflammation at that site. I suggest you to consult your dentist to know the cause and further treatment.
Abscess needs to be confirmed. And also cause of repeated pain needs to be found out. It could be a malpositioned teeth or caries tooth or a cyst inside.
