Is There A Permanent Cure For Tinea Cruris?
Oral and topical antifungals
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you.
I am Dr kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have noted your concern.
The over the counter creams that you are using have a steroid component and are not an effective remedy for tinea /fungal infection. Though they do offer temporary relief but for effective solution I suggest you to take an oral antifungal e.g Cap. Itraconazole 100mg (Cap. Sporonox) twice a day for 4 weeks. In addition I suggest you to apply a topical antifungal e.g Luliconazole 1 %cream(lulifin cream), twice daily. You may also take an oral antihistamine e.g Cetrizine 10mg tab once every evening for relief from itching. These are prescription medications and I advice you to kindly talk to your local practitioner for a prescription of the same.
