I already did that. Sores in mouth,67 year old male, negative for Sourjorns, positive for Epstein Barr ( had mono as a teenager). Can I pass this to my wife and can I have an autoimmune disorder since it’s been like this for six months and no ENT or Internist can find the cause. Is it contagious?

Brief Answer:
EBV can be transmitted to your wife.

Detailed Answer:
Sores in the mouth that are persistent and the cause could not be detected is not likely to be due to an infection. EBV can be transmitted to your wife but the sores are not likely to be transmitted to your wife. These can be related to a low level of immunity or Vitamin B complex deficiency. This is not likely to be related to an autoimmune disorder.
Regards.
