Is There A Way To Heal Quicker After Surgery For A Torn Labrum Leading To Bursitis?
Question: I had surgery on 5/24 for a torn hip labrum, turns out my labrum was pretty beat up and shredded. That didn't surprise me, I'd complained about hip pain for nearly 10 years, the past four, I'd received injections for bursitis; turns out, bursitis is a direct result of a torn labrum. I've had the surgery, but I'm still hurting. My surgeon says six mos before I start to feel like myself again, a year or more to return to normal. Is there a way to heal quicker?
Brief Answer:
Regular physiotherapy can help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It was an old torn hip labrum. This takes a bit longer to recover even if the surgical repair is done. The pain will subside gradually. You can start with regular physiotherapy to regain the tone of your muscles and for an early recovery. Taking a healthy diet rich in protein and calcium and a multivitamin supplement with Zinc will also help in an early recovery.
I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health.
