Question: Is there any ayurvedic medicine for manly voice ?
My name is Sekhar.I am 35 years old male.My voice sounds as female on phone.I got the issue checked up with a ENT Doctor.He said that i was suffering from conditions such as Sulcus Vocalis and Puberphonia.I took speech therapy also.There was not much improvement in voice.It was the same female voice itself.Kindly suggest me some medicines which can help me in the improvement of my voice.

Thanks for contacting with your health concern and after reviewing your health query I’m of the following opinion:
1. As you are a diagnosed case of puberphonia ( female voice in male adult), thus before commencing further please exclude other hidden contributory factors like chronic sinusitis, acid reflux disease, bacterial/ fungal/ parasitic infection to complex causes like vocal cord strain/injury or growth.
2. In Ayurveda we usually group the disease under “ Swarabheda” and following line of Management/Treatment is advised:
i. Voice rest, soft diet, avoid spicy food.
ii. lukewarm saline mouth wash gargles. ( or Nasya with XXXXXXX taila: 6 drops in each nostril)
iii. vitamin C tablets and zinc supplements [zinc lozenges] or Yashtimadhu ghan vati: 1 tablet 4 times a day for chewing
iv. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX ras: 1
Sitopladi churan: 3gm... take both with honey twice daily for 1 month
v. I usually prepare medicine for the same which helps improve voice quality and tone. Of interested I can share the details of the medicine along with the charges.

Sir,
I do not have any other problems such as Chronic Sinusitis,Acid Reflux Disease or any bacterial/fungal/parasitic infection. I have taken Vitamin C and Zinc supplements in the past.They were not of much use to me.I need some medicine which can increase the length and mass of the vocal chords so that I can have a pure manly voice. Does XXXXXXX XXXXXXX ras or any other medicine- whatever you have mentioned help me with it ? 2. You can use the medicines as described earlier for 1 month at a stretch and see the difference yourself.

I am very thankful to you for providing answer to my question .I am looking for potent and powerful medicines to cure this voice disorder which is troubling me for a very long time now(like say around for twenty years),Like you said,if you have powerful medicines which can cure this voice disorder,please send it to me.This has been a embarassing defect which is killing my social,professional and marital life,Please ensure that you leave no stone turned in providing me the right,potent,powerful and capable medicines which can help me get out of this troubling condition.

- Gandusha ( oil pulling or retaining of fluid inside mouth) with Mahanarayan Taila Or
- use of kulanjan/yashtimadhu ghan vati as lozenges Or
- sucking raw borax (tankan/suhaga): 1gm.
3. Oral Medicines:
- to restore immunity, powerful anti oxidant.
- to improve throat problem/hoarseness of voice.
- to increase the tone of vocal cords and improve voice quality.
