Is There Any Blood Vessel Below Oral Mucosa Big Enough For Small Particles To Enter?
Especially more below than tooth gingival (inner side , almost close to the root of tongue )
I want to know that is there any big blood vessel below oral mucosa or in oral mucasal enough for fish bones or small particles get into. (if small fish bone stuck or break the oral mucosa.).
No it can not enter the blood vessels.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for consulting with HCM.
This is Dr. Dipti Singh here to answer your query.
Actually oral mucosa is a very delicate tissue, so when any hard object strikes oral mucosa it causes an ulcer. Same is happening in your case when you are eating fish, the hard bone of fish is causing trauma and leading to an ulcer.
But there is nothing to worry about it, as this bone can only cause trauma to mucosa, it can not enter the blood vessels or damage the blood vessels, as the blood vessels are also protected by other tissues eg. connective tissues.
So just be relaxed and when ulcer forms because of trauma apply a topical anesthetic ointment on it.
Hope it will help you
Thank you
