Is There Any Correlation Between PVCs And Anemia?

Question: I am 69 and have had benign PVC's for about 15 years. I had hip surgery (replacement) about 6 weeks ago. I have anemia as a result of blood loss during surgery. I just started taking an iron supplement. My PVC's have greatly increased. (25 /day to several /hour) Is this increase related to my low red count?

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
Anemia is a common cause of PVCs and it together with iron deficiency is to be blamed for the worsening of PVCs symptoms.
Iron supplements will help to correct anemia and iron deficiency an will help to stabilise PVCs. However, iron supplements needs time (2-4 months) to correct anemia and you should wait for the first 2 months to see any results.
