Question: Hi Doctor, My name is Ramesh and my age is 44. I have been using Glycomet 500 SR twice a day after food from last 4 years due to diabetes. Recently i have observed that tablet is not digested properly. some times i can see the tablet comes out next day morning as it is in feces. I see this trend when my acidity levels are high. I generally take Pantop 40mg as and when i feel more acid reflections (suggested by the doctor).

Is there any other tablets i can use instead of Glycomet 500 SR. please suggest. my Hba1c is 7.5.

Brief Answer:
It is an SR tablet

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome here,

It is Glycomet SR tablet. SR means sustained release tablet and it has a coating to ensure that its ingredients are released slowly. The faster intestinal movement or the higher acidity maybe expelling the SR tablet as such. You may try the Tab GLycomet 500 (that is not SR).

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
