Is There Any Permanent Cure For Allergies?
Question: Dear Sir, My Father is having multiple allergies along with drug allergies. He is hypersensitive to Ciplox and also Ibuprofen.
Sometimes when he is having the allergic attack general Antihistamines don't work and he needs to administer some injections to get immediate relief.
Can you please some suggestions on how to take care of this critical life threatening problem. Is there any permanent cure for allergies, any tests that can help us in finding the root cause of the allergy attacks (we already did one allergy test couple of years before and there were many allergies that came up in those reports including dust and food allergies).

Brief Answer:
Get done repeat allergy testing and serum IgE, eosinophil levels.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
In my opinion, you should definitely take him to allergy specialist and get done:
1. Repeat allergy testing (skin prick test)
2. Serum IgE level
3. Absolute eosinophil count(AEC).
Skin allergy testing is more accurate in determining allergens.
Serum IgE and eosinophils are indirect markers of allergy.
So if they are raised then long term use of Montelukast (anti allergic) and Fexofenadine (anti histamine) will be beneficial.
Please let me know.
1. Has he ever undergone these tests?
2. Has he ever consulted allergy specialist?
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

2. Has he ever consulted allergy specialist?
NG-> Yes, we consulted the allergy specialist after the tests and he suggested that there is no cure for allergies apart from taking the prescribed drugs whenever such attack occurs.
Regards,
Neeraj
