Brief Answer:
Suspicion of dog bite & rabipur vaccination.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
It seems that you have not been bitten by the road side dog .Since there is no scratching or blood letting bite as mentioned by you, there is no need to take Rabipur vaccine.Have you previously been vaccinated against rabies virus ?If,so two vaccination if you have already taken by now will serve as the booster dose only.
There is no restriction about smoking or alcohol consumption during Rabipur vaccination.

Rabies vaccination
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Since you have not been bitten by the road-side dog actually and you have already started taking Rabipur vaccination in fear of rabies, the most logical option would be to complete three doses of Rabipur vaccination on days 0, 7, and 21 and it will serve as Pre-exposure Prophylaxis against rabies. In future if you are bitten by a stray or rabid dog,you have to take only two doses of Rabipur vaccination. There is no need to take 5 injections.

Brief Answer:
Precaution during Rabipur vaccinations
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. There is no food restriction during Rabipur vaccinations.
However there are certain precaution as follows:-
Interactions:
Chloroquine: Long-term therapy with chloroquine may suppress immune response to intradermal rabies vaccine. Complete pre-exposure rabies vaccination 1 to 2 months before starting chloroquine administration.
Immunosuppressant drugs (including high-dose corticosteroids): May result in insufficient response to immunization. If possible, do not give immunosuppressive agents during postexposure therapy.
Radiation therapy: Persons undergoing radiation therapy may experience insufficient response to immunization and remain susceptible.
However these precautions may not be applicable to you.
Certain general precaution:-
Follow careful record keeping when administering vaccine: note manufacturer, lot number, expiration date of vaccine, date of administration and signature of person administering vaccine.
Store vaccine under refrigeration; do not freeze.
Report any reaction to your doctor. However aspirin/antihistamines can be taken to treat mild local or systemic reactions, preferably with advise from your doctor.
