Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Following are my recommended guidelines:

1. As your anxiety issue(s) is/are mainly related with health problem thus management is initiated according to 'manovaha srotas vyadhi' [Generalised Anxiety Disorder [GAD]

- Avoid: excess physical –mental exertion, sun exposure, corrylium, smoking, errhine therapy, betel leaves, gruel, soup, day time sleeping, garlic, ginger, onion, spicy-heavy- junk food, mustard oil, pickles, caffeine, alcohol, late night awakenings and day time sleeping [maintain a regular sleeping pattern]

- Take: mint, coriander, tomato, cumin, plenty of water, vitamins and mineral supplements, apple, banana, grapes, dates, enough sleep, warm massage

- We do make very good medicine for the same which is result oriented and evidence based along with positive reviews by the patient(s) and the best thing about the drug is that it is purely herbal, AYUSH certified and helps improve levels of stress tolerance [anxiolytic and anti depressant properties].

- You can practice: bhujangasana, halasana, paschimottasana, sarvangasana, shalabhasana, shavasana and vakrasana and pranayamas like bhastrika and kapalbhati. [Nadi Shodhan is best pranayam to pacify anxiety]

- Lemon juice mixed with sugar in a glass of water helps release stress removing hormones from the body and bring mind at peace/rest.

i. Take 1 spoon black pepper powder and 5 spoons jaggery in 4 cup water and boil till 2 cups remain, filter it and drink for 1 month.

ii. Take 3 teaspoons of bitter gourd with a glass of water every morning for a month.

iii. Mix 4-5 dates in half glass of water and drink 2 times daily for a month.

iv. Regular intake of apples, honey

v. Apple, almond, banana, broccoli, cantaloupe, melon, carrot, cashew nut, corn, cauliflower, grapes, guava, lemon, XXXXXXX orange, pineapple, soybean, spinach have anti oxidant and detoxifying properties so take them in plenty.

2. Since Anxiety is mainly related with Vata thus

- follow a vata pacifying diet: i.e. avoid raw vegetables, soft drinks, pop corns chips, skipping meals, outdoor sports [prefer calming activities], purple-blue-white clothing [instead prefer warm colour such as red/orange/green/yellow]

Hope I have answered your query. Do revert with your concerns.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

1. The reason of avoiding soups is based on following principle:

i. In relation with canned soup the research has showed that they contain Bisphenol A (BPA), which can divert important mood-stabilizing neurotransmitters by significantly changing the genes in the stress-mediating portion of the brain, with more likelihood of anxiety issues

ii. In relation with Ayurveda, although onion/ginger in small amount aids Vata digestion but are XXXXXXX in XXXXXXX [i.e. are destructive/chaotic and dark in nature] and aggravate anxiety problem

iii. Since most of the ingredients in prepared foods/home made include are of nightshade variety [brinjal, potato starch, tomato, chillies, cayenne, peppers] which produce natural pesticidecalled glycoalkaloids which block the enzyme ‘acetylcholinestarase’ resulting in over stimulation of nervous system in sensitive individuals [anxiety].

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks for your prompt replies

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It is good to hear that you also have an insight into the same [regarding BPA] and therefore getting deep into your history [health anxiety] where you get anxious with even minute problem which means these panic attacks are repeatable [health issues] which means there is ‘fear of fear’ i.e. vicious anxiety- panic attack- anxiety cycle, so although they could be due to anxiety/depression but make sure you have ruled out medical conditions like overactive thyroid, low blood glucose, use of excess caffeine, cocaine, amphetamines or heart problem.

1. Start practicing relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, Pranayam [anulom vilom] which will strengthen the relaxation response of body as opposite to stress response during panic attacks, and make sure YOU don’t try to flee away from the situation which will reinforce the perception that your panic attacks are unbearable [remember they are uncomfortable but not life threatening], allow the symptoms to pass and you will gain ability to cope with them.

Hope I have answered your query.
