Is There Interaction Between Escitalopram, Quetiapine And Trazodone?
Question: Hello, I have been taking 10mg of escitalopram in the morning and 50 mg of quetiapine at night to help me sleep. I haven't been sleeping well so my doctor prescribed trazodone 50mg for me to take at night. It seems like there is risk of quite a few negative reactions? Is this something I should be concerned about?
Brief Answer:
Increased sedation and low BP.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
In my opinion, there is no major drug interactions between these drugs.
Theoretically, there may appear significant interactions but practically not, at these doses.
The common possible interaction would be increased sedation and low BP. Just take of that.
But, I would also suggest you to increase the dose of quetiapine to 100mg rather than adding trazodone for sleep.
Kindly discuss this with your doctor.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
