Is There Risk Of Getting STD After A Body Massage?

default
Posted on Thu, 8 May 2014
Question: I was wondering because I was at a spa today where it was a nude message which the therapist has his hands all over my body, does that contribute to any type of STD? And could the table have any germs that I should fear because it was a body scrub?

Brief answer...no chance of STD Detailed answer.. Hello, Thanks for the query. You have to have a penetrative sex to get most types of sexually transmitted diseases. By just doing a massage,no STD can be transmitted. However some types of skin infection like pubic lice or scabies can be transmitted by skin to skin contact. If there is genital to genital contact ( meaning that there is no penetration but just skin to skin contact as it happens during sex ) ,then one can get genital herpes and HPV. If there was no sexual activity or penetration, then you should not fear about STD's. I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query. Best of luck Thanks
