Is Thick Mucus In Throat A Symptom Of HIV?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern ,but you don't have any symptom indicative for HIV.
I evaluated the picture you sent and the red dots on the side of your tongue are normal papilles of the tongue. It is a normal finding and it is not a cause of concern.
The mucus in back of your throat might be just an irritation or a allergy but it is not a symptoms of HIV.You can try water salt gargles or lemon tea with honey .
Usually HIV doesn't cause any specific symptom or sign .This means that if you had unprotected intercourse with a person ,you don't know for sure her HIV status ,then you are at risk for having contracted HIV infection, despite having or no symptoms at all.
The fact that the first test at 6 weeks was negative is a good news but you need to do another test at 3 months to be completely sure you are not infected.
Hope it helps.
Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
