Brief Answer:
I doubt ear infection...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

1. I doubt any ear infection in your case as there was no history of flu, earache or reduced hearing. Antibiotics would not be of much help to you.

2. Further examination and battery of investigations have to be performed to rule out Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, Meniere's disease, and Cervical vertigo.

3. At this stage, Betahistine dihydrochloride would be appropriate. You need to talk to your doctor and request him/her to start you on this above medications. Also, request your doctor to refer you to an apt ENT specialist for the further evaluation.

4. Unless we do not identify the cause of your dizziness, I would not be able to tell you approximately for how long this would last for.

Hope this answers your query; I will be available for the follow-up queries.
