Is This Spina Bifida Or Could It Be Normal? I Have Been Taking Folic Acid Before N Throughout Pregnancy And No One In My Or Husband's Family Has Spina Bifida.

I had ultrasound at 16 weeks 3 days And found fetal cranial structure is abnormal and venticulomegaly noted with an abnormaly shaped cerebellum. Also in sagital section there appears to be cystic area noted at fetal sacrum.
Is this spina bifida or could it be normal?
I have been taking folic acid before n throughout pregnancy and no one in my or husband's family has spina bifida.

I have gone through your query and understand your health concerns ,
A cystic area noted in the area of sacrum is suggestive of spina bifida. This is not a normal finding. The enlarged ventricles if these are more than 10mm in size may be associated with abnormal brain development.
You can get a repeat ultrasound scan done after 2 weeks to see the progress and then plan for termination after discussing with your gynecologist.

She suspected cystic area but wasn't sure about it coz baby was moving. But she mentioned about banana shape and lemon shape head.
