Question: I am having a thyroid biopsy next week and am concerned about the pain, can you ease my fears?

Brief Answer: Hi and welcome to HCM Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query. Thyroid biopsy may sound serious but this is suprisingly painless method since very fine needles are used and it hurts similar to vaccination. Usually it lasts only for several to ten seconds. Also,local anasthesia can be used if thyroid is placed deeper. So there is no need to ease your fears,you just need to be informed. you should not worry at all. all you need to worry is result of biopsy but I am sure that nothing serious will be found.
