Is Train Travel Advisable In Early Pregnancy? What Are The Precautions To Be Taken?

Question: Hi,
My wife is pregnant and its about 65 days since her LMP (Feb 20th was her LMP).
We are now staying in Mumbai and she wants to travel to Coimbatore. Its about 32hrs Journey by train.
I was advised not to travel by flight. Is it ok to travel by Train?
Should we take any precautions at this moment?
Its not an urgent travel. Just that shez feeling very lonely here and wants to goto her home town.
Kindly advise.
Thanks and br, XXXXXXX

Hello thanks for the query.
Travel isnt contraindicated unless she has some significant history like bleeding etc.
At this point i would say that she needs much rest and shouldnt travel long distances esp 23 hrs.If it were a shorter distance by train i may have said ok,but due to the long journey i would advise against travelling just yet.If it isnt an urgent travel, then try to defer the trip until the 1st trimester is over. That should be in another month's time.

Hi,
Thanks for your advise.
We shall wait for another 1 month and then travel.
Just another question about mood swings :)
Getting angry and feeling restless is ok. But, my wife is lil adament and whenever she gets angry, she doesn't eat :(
First of all, these days shez not eating only. Daily one pomegranate and one XXXXXXX and one tender coconut water. Thats all she eats.
On top it, she skips her dinner if shez not in good mood.
Skiping meals at this time will have any negative impact?
Thanks and br, XXXXXXX

Yes,skipping meals isnt a good idea at all since ultimately it will affect the growth of the fetus. These are the developmental months of the fetus and maximum care needs to be taken now. Sit her down and explain the consequences. If needed have her speak to a counsellor. Normally once the hormonal condition stabilises, the mood swings should also stabilise.
