Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
This is Dr. Kakkar. I answered your query on this issue 2 days ago. You did'nt mention about these tests in your previous query to me. Gonorrhea and Chlamydia, are usually symptomatic in males unlike in females in whom they may be clinically silent. In males, gonorrhea and chlamydia classically cause urethral inflammation (urethritis: burning micturation, urethral discharge). I guess you never developed any suspicious symptoms suggestive of urethritis. Moreover, since you had protected vaginal sex therefore you were unlikely to contract gonorrhea /chlamydia through this route.
Gonorrhea and chlamydia can also cause throat infection, the infection being acquired through oral sex. Since your 7 th day swab test came out to be negative therefore it rules out these infections, however, ideally a swab test performed at 2 weeks is considered to be more conclusive.
HIV DUO test has a sensitivity of 99.8% at 1 month and therefore a negative test almost rules out HIV. However a negative test for HIV should always be confirmed by a second negative test which should be performed at 3 months to cover for the window period of hiv infection.
Negative RNA PCR test for HIV at 10 days is too early to be taken as conclusive.
You may also undergo an HSV ELISA for Herpes. A repeat test for HIV at 3 months is recommended, repeat VDRL test at 3 months is also advisable.
Regarding HPV, I have already told you that there is no way we can determine whether you took hpv infection from that particular encounter. However, points in favour are: Oral sex is low risk route and with protected vaginal sex the chances are lesser as compared to unprotected sex, but not zero because a condom does not offer 100% protection because it covers only the shaft.
Therefore you can feel relatively safe about resuming sexual relations with your wife.
Regards
