Is Travelling Safe During Second Trimester?
Question: My question is for my wife. Currently she is residing here in Saudi Arabia and she will be back soon in the Philippines on March 26, 2016. On that day, she will be 11 week pregnant (from LMP on January 7, 2016). Now she needs to go back to the Philippines on that day whether she like it or not because her Visit Visa will expire on March 29, 2016. Now, here are my questions:
1. Is it safe for her to travel?
2. When she travels, what she should do prior to her travelling date?
Thanks

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX I would like to ask about the flight duration of time because it takes 12 hours to travel from Saudi Arabia to Philippines. Is it ok for her? I am so glad to know that it is safe for her to travel, I hope that 12 hours travel time will not affect the condition of our baby. Thank you once again. Regards, XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
Break journey is advised.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Sorry for such a long delay in my response.
12 hours journey is quite a long one.
So break journey is advised, if possible.
She should take a complete rest during flight.
She should move around and do some leg movement ( to prevent DVT).
Keep her medicine and follow her doctor advised.
Hope found useful.
Good luck.
