Question: Kindly advise if the current treatment mentioned below will help in MTP.
My wife 32 yrs old had missed her period on due dt 23rd Nov since last period dt 23rd Oct 2014. Since we don't want a baby right now, doctor has advised her to take Sandoz Regestrone 5 Mg 1 tab twice daily for 5 days. Then she will perform ultrasound and advise further for termination

1. Your doctor is correct to advice ultrasound scan to be performed before confirming location of pregnancy as ectopic pregnancy can be life threatening.
2. The medicines she is giving now will not cause MTP. These will cause regular menses after stopping them if there is no pregnancy.
3. Missed period does not mean pregnancy. Please do home pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy again and then wait for ultrasound scan as per doctor's advice.

She had already performed with the pregnancy test kit which shows 2 bold lines.
If mense does'nt happen with the dose of regestrone 5, which she has already taken eight in last four days out of 5 day's course, then how the MTP can be proceeded.
