Is Undigested Food In Bowel Movement Normal?
Question: why is brown rice the only food that shows up whole in my stool?
Brief Answer:
possibly not chewing properly
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question,
The first part of digestion is grinding up food with the teeth. If you are having whole foods like rice appear in your stools then you need to spend more time chewing each bit of food that you take. Try chewing each mouthful 20-30 times before swallowing. This should take care of the problem. It is not uncommon for foods to show up whole in the stools if they are not chewed properly. It is not a serious problem but may mean that you are not getting the nutrition out of the foods as well as you might if you did more chewing.

It's funny it's the only food that does that to me. Is it da heroes if I am not getting the nutrition out of it? And why only brown rice? I don't see it with any other food
Brief Answer:
hello and thanks for the follow up
Detailed Answer:
Brown rice does have a sort of a shell on it. White rice is polished and loses that shell so it may be easier to digest even if not chewed properly. If the brown rice is the only food that does it then it just means you need to make sure that you chew a lot when you eat the brown rice. It is true that if foods passes through and comes out whole then you are not getting the nutrition you need from it.
