Is Uterus Removable Advisable For A 47 Year Old?

Removal of uterus is associated with some complications
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Irregular periods are normal in the perimenopausal age group (between 42-50 years) due to the hormonal disturbances.
However, there are several medications which can rectify the problem and Mirena can also be inserted.
Hysterectomy or the removal of the uterus is the last resort in this scenario.
This is because it involves surgical risk, anaesthetic risk, removal of ovaries which lead to premature menopause and hence decreased bone strength and ageing.
I will also suggest her to go for medications or Mirena and if not cured by these, then only she should resort to hysterectomy.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
