Question: It%E2%80%99s been since March that I have had weird sensation when I drink or eat. I had difficulty swallowing saliva but when eating food it%E2%80%99s ok. Sometimes I feel a small area of pain in the left upper side of my throat. When I drink cold water, I only feel the right side of my throat being code when I swallow the water instead of the entire left and right side. I just started on omeprazole once daily for possible GERD, but should I be worried about the feeling in my throat where the left side doesn%E2%80%99t seem to feel the ice water?

Brief Answer:
GERD is causing inflammation of esophagus and difficulty swallowing.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I don't think you should get worried because your left side of throat doesn't feel the ice water.
The discomfort in your throat when you swallow saliva us possibly caused by esophagitis or inflammation of esophagus because of GERD.
Acidity reflux can cause inflammation of esophagus and the pain and discomfort while swallowing.
Using Omeprazole to reduce acidity , eat small amounts of food often.
Don't eat later than 7pm. Avoid fruit juices especially orange juice. Sleep with elevated head with pillows.

Hope I have answered the question.
