Itchy Skin, No Rash, Diarrhea, Pain Under Ribs, Do Not Smoke.
Your question is a good one and I will work on providing you with some good information and recommendations regarding what is going on.
You have described symptoms including itching as well as episodes of diarrhea lasting eight hours. you have also described some discomfort under your whip on the right side. All of these symptoms may be coincidental and possibly also may be reflective of a mild viral illness.
The most common cause of a period of diarrhea lasting just a few hours such as you experienced would be a virus. regarding the pain under the rib this could possibly be related to some cramping after the illness which you have experienced. Sometimes the intestines will develop some cramping after this type of syndrome.
Regarding the itching the most common cause of this is simply dry skin. If you feel that your skin is otherwise very well hydrated and you'll use moisturizing lotion on a daily basis then we might consider alternative possibilities. One example of this is in a situation where the gallbladder becomes inflamed or if there is impairment of flow of file through the liver. This is referred to as jaundice. In those types of cases your skin would be colored more yellow. Also you might experience yellow coloring of your eyes.
Unless your symptoms are continuing the right now or if they are getting any worse I really think that what you experienced was a mild viral illness. Usually these types of things will improve that. Of about 3 to 5 days. My recommendations to you otherwise would be to maintain good fluid hydration for the next several days.
I would otherwise recommend that you changed your diet and decreased the amounts of fatty food or fried food intake for the next few days. I would maintain a more bland diet including foods such as bread rice XXXXXXX sauce and toast.
I thank you again for submitting your question. I hope you found my response to be helpful and informative. If you are satisfied with my response please accept it. If you have additional concerns I would be happy to discuss them with you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robert
