Question: Its a complicated situation, I had multiple x rays (pelvis lumbar spine series and hips) the images came back saturated and I believe the incorrect bucky was activated (which can cause overexposure) and the backup timer was broken I am concerned that the x rays went up very high and I was exposed to a few hundred mSv or more. Is this scenario possible ? For this to happen the mAs for one x ray would have had to have been about 2,000 and the kVp around 120 Is this possible or can x ray exposures not reach that output and those very very high doses please answer soon im very worried I was exposed to a few hundred msv or more and I need to know if this situation is even possible

Brief Answer:
You were not exposed to high dose of radiation

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read your areas of concern and find that the possibility of you getting exposed to few hundred mSv is not possible in any situation when getting xrays.

You are completely safe from radiation over dose even if there was malfunctioning of the timer and saturation of the xray image.

Regards,
