Its Going To Be Five Years, Later This Year, That

Question: Its going to be five years, later this year, that Im fighting chronic prostatitis and that I deal regularly with pelvic muscle pain and sexual pain and dysfunction. Even if with time I found ways to manage it, I never remedied the situation and the days when I truly enjoyed sex and didn%E2%80%99t feel pain afterwards are far far away... Im getting older and Im wondering how I will have a stable relationship and kids eventually with this ghost of a problem coming back every few days to haunt and hurt me.

I have tried so many things antobiotics alpha blockers anti inflammatory anti depessant vegan healthy diet prostate massage yoga pelvic stretching dct relaxed 3 months at a spa increased sexual activity, less sexual activity nothing works still pain down there.

I have good friends a family, no financial trouble, a healthy lifestyle, just went on a beautiful vacation 2 months in south east asia. Im very satisfied with my life except for the prostatitis so I truly doubt that what makes my condition chronic is psychological even if the condition itself creates its share of stress and uncertainty.

At the point where Im at is there tests or exams I could take to have a better idea of what is going on with my prostate? Why I feel so much pain after sex? If the problem is the pelvic muscle it must be triggered by something else because muscle tissue heals and should heal especially with all the things I tried to help it. Some say after several years calcifications in the prostate are found so maybe now I have those I don%E2%80%99t know.

Do you know of any procedure I could take that could give me the slightest chance of recovery or discovery of what is not going right in my body? I only did a urine test(negative), prostate fluid analysis (positive in beginning and treated with antibiotics septra and arytromicin) and a general pelvic ultrasound (not directed on prostate). Im honestly a little desperate in finding how I could get back a healthy sex life and a better social life by having a full recovery. Im also ready to go through exams or clinical procedures you think are relevant and that I should take first.

Thank you for your help I always appreciate it!

Brief Answer:
Where exactly is the pain?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. First of all, I need to know exactly where the pain is located? Have you had an MRI of your pelvis? PSA levels measured? From what you write, it is not clear to me that your problem necessarily is chronic prostatitis.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

My pain is especially after ejaculation at the base of penis, the area is between anus and testis. I have not done an MRI of pelvis or psa test

Brief Answer:
Then I recommend you do

Detailed Answer:
Hi again XXXXXXX

As you have tried all these (ineffective) remedies for chronic prostatitis, you must make sure the diagnosis is correct. This can be done by means of an PSA and MRI of your pelvis. This should be the first step as it will guide further diagnostics and treatment.

Please let me know if you have further questions.
