I’ve Been Diagnosed With Covid 19. I Did The Monoclonal
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I’ve been diagnosed with covid 19. I did the monoclonal antibodies because my BMI is high and I have hypertension. I did the infusion yesterday. Last night I had a fever of 102. It’s down today but now there is a rattle in my chest. I’ve not had anything but a slight cough till now. My O2 is still running 98-99. Am I getting pneumonia?
Brief Answer:
With these oxygenation values, pneumonia is unlikely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to “Ask a Doctor “ service.
I have read your question.
With those values of blood oxygenation and without any signs to support it ( such as shortness of breath, heavy coughing, etc.) pneumonia is unlikely.
However, following up closely with periodic measurements of the oxygenation, blood tests such as d-dimmer, CPR, etc., and, if any signs of shortness of breath, lowering of the oxygenation, with a CT scan of the chest, are necessary.
Since you have an increased BMI, anticoagulants should be used for a limited time.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
Low molecular weight heparin such as enoxaparin for example may be used for this purpose.
Rivaroxaban also is another possibility.
