I've Been Feeling A Lot Of Pain Recently In My
Question: I've been feeling a lot of pain recently in my stomach. At first, it felt like being pricked by a needle and it'd happen all over my stomach. Then the pain started to last longer and stay in a singular area of my stomach. It's currently in the upper left part of my stomach. At first, I thought it was gas related so I started taking gas x but it didn't help. One other symptom is I'm constipated. Is this something gas related or is it something more serious like an ulcer or worse? If so, what should I do?
Brief Answer:
Yes it is related to constipation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for choosing "Ask a Doctor" for your service,
Have seen your details,
Pain due to acid peptic disorder involves the right upper quadrant.
Your pain is related to constipation. In constipation food ferments inside intestines hence releasing large amount of toxic gases. These gases compresses the nerves causing pain in the localised area.
I would suggest you to use lactulose 15-45 ml per day to relieve constipation along with activated charcoal tablets 2 tab thrice.
Follow up after 3 days.
Thanks.
