Question: I’ve been having severe muscle tightness and cramping in my left leg for several weeks. My left foot feels cold and tingly. My hamstrings are really tight and I have trouble straightening my leg. I quit smoking two years ago and am 35 in average shape. Whenever I bring it up to a dr they kind of brush it off but then I get freaked out about blood clots and artery disease. Could it just be sciatica?

Brief Answer:
Unlikely sciatica.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
It is unlikely sciatica. Sciatica causes sharp pain in high is often associated with tingling and numbness.
Possible causes like peripheral vascular disease where the blood flow to the leg is compromised may be considered.
Anxiety can worsen the symptoms.
If symptoms persist you can consult a physician and plan for a Doppler scan.
Thanks
