I've Been Taking Dulera For The Last 16 Months. It

Question: I've been taking Dulera for the last 16 months. It has been helpful for Asthma COPD Overlap, which I was diagnosed with over a year ago. The side affect that has been most difficult for me is hoarseness (I am a singer). Is there any reliable remedy for this (other than stopping the Dulera). Thanks!
Brief Answer:
Do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
Dulera is having formoterol and mometasone.
It is common to have hoarseness of voice if you are don't do gargles after dulera use.
So better to do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day especially after dulera use.
Also start levocetrizine tablet twice daily.
This will also help in hoarseness of voice.
Please let me know
1. Do you do gargles after dulera use?
2. Do you smoke?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Thank you, Doctor.
Yes, I do rinse my mouth and gargle after Dulera use. I also gargle 2 or so times a day, in addition.
No I don't smoke, but was a former (light) smoker. I did not have a problem with hoarseness before I took the Dulera.
The levocetirizine - is that levocetirizine dihydrochloride, an anti-histamine allergy medicine?

Brief Answer:
Yes, it is the same drug.

Thanks for your follow up question on Ask a doctor forum.
I am extremely sorry for late reply as I was very busy with other professional obligations.
Yes, it is the same drug I was talking about.
Since you are doing gargles also, and still have hoarseness, in my opinion you should definitely consult ENT doctor and get done laryngoscopy to rule out other causes of hoarseness of voice.
You may need additional investigations like ultrasound neck, CT neck etc.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Again sorry for late reply.
Thanks.
