I've Been Told By My Doctors Not To Worry That
Question: I've been told by my doctors not to worry that I have metastatic disease, along with a whole host of symptoms that they claim are unrelated. The source of the disease has not been found so I am supposed to take a wait and see attitude. Is this wise?
Brief Answer:
Pet CT scan
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Since you are having metastatic disease I would advise you to do a Pet CT scan
The scan will highlight the cancer sites
Then biopsy and immunohistochemistry test from lesion will tell you the primary source of cancer
Regards

Yes, I had a petscan and nothing showed up. It was done 18 months ago, and I've had a second chest CT scan which shows the metastatic disease but nothing more. Now I am told that I am just supposed to hang tight.
My symptoms are so severe that I can't stand or walk for more than a couple of minutes, which makes leaving the house impossible. I use my husband's walker because he's been bedbound for 3 years now, but it merely gets me from room to room within the house.
I can't even sit up for more than 30 minutes, which makes taking care of personal care and other responsibilities very difficult.

Brief Answer:
Immunohistochemistry test
Detailed Answer:
Hi
If second CT scan chest is showing metastatic disease it means the cancer has spread to the lungs
As your pet CT scan could not detect primary only way out is to do a biopsy from chest lesion and do a immunohistochemistry test to find the primary source of cancer
