I’ve been dealing with symptoms that resemble those of clostridioides difficile which I was told I do not after after the results of a stool sample came back negative. I had blood taken and I was told everything was normal as far as the blood test goes. I was given a ct scan and it came up negative for diverticulitis. My symptoms still persist though. I’m also experiencing new symptom. I’m constantly tired throughout the day and now my face is tingling and twitching. I’ve had two consultations with two different doctors and neither of which can tell me what’s wrong I’m just looking for answers. Please anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated.
Brief Answer:
Can you spell out your symptoms?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Can you kindly write out those symptoms which make you think you ay be having clostridium difficile infection? Did you need antibiotics recently for any treatment? Have you had diarrhea? If yes, how many times in a day and for how long has this been going on?
For the tiredness and twitching, I will like to know what your last thyroid function and electrolytes were. If possible, send a copy of your last blood work to me.
However, nothing seems emergent and your life is not at stake. Let's comb through the available reports to see if we can understand more or make the determination to request for more evaluation as appropriate.

I was having trouble with a tooth and I was prescribed amoxicillin to try to remedy the issue. After about a week of being off the amoxicillin I started having severe diarrhea about 4-5 times a day. I went to go see a doctor and they thought that I had cdiff but didn’t have the necessary things to perform a stool sample. I was told to go on the “brat” diet. I did so for a week with nothing changing. I went to go see another doctor and was prescribed vancomycin, I had blood drawn and a stool sample performed. The vancomycin seemed to help for a week and then it reverted back to diarrhea. The stool sample test came back negative for cdiff and all my blood tests came back as normal.
Brief Answer:
Try loperamide and stay well hydrated!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for sharing the results with me.
I have reviewed the attached reports and information fully. Clearly, this isn't Cdiff and doesn't seem to be an infectious diarrhea. Recurrent tingling and twitching may be related to fluid and electrolyte imbalances secondary to diarrhea.
At this time, I recommend increased fluid intake and loperamide to stop the diarrhea. We will review and see how this plays out. Also, stay positive, eat healthy and don't be overly scared as your symptoms seem rather unlikely to cause damage to your health at this time.
I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Keep me updated about your progress.
