Question: Ive had a non productive cough for over 2 weeks. Have been doing lots of yard work and been self quarantining at home with my husband. we only go out for essentials maybe twice a week. Also washing any items that come into the house, not wearing shoes in and changing cloths and washing them after returning home. Husband was in Per%C3%BA and returned March 12th. Just feel that desire to cough a lot, but able to take deep breaths and exercise as normal. No fatigue or fever. shoukd I be concerned at all?

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely to be a presentation of a Corona pneumonia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

The global situation of COVID 19 is still evolving but the cardinal symptoms of it are high grade fever, dry cough, fatigue and breathlessness.
Patient may have coryza, diarrhoea, loss of smell and taste and body pains.
The maximm incubation period of Corona is 14 days so an isolation or quarantine of 14 days is advised.
As 14 days have elapsed and there are no classic symptoms so it is very unlikely that your husband had been facing a corona infection.
But it is good that he practised self quarantine after a travel history.
Mantain good hand hygiene hygiene by repeatedly washing hands with soap and warm water, use alcohol based sanitizer, mantain social distancing and have a nourishing diet and good sleep to boost immunity.
For cough, go for hot saline gargles and steam inhalation.

Hope that I have answered your query.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
