I've Had Light Brownish/yellowish Diarrhea For A Month Now After

Question: I've had light brownish/yellowish diarrhea for a month now after my second lap Nissen surgery. I don't feel sick; just have the diarrhea. This second Nissen was complicated - the surgeons had to work on my stomach, liver and abdomen. Surgery was ten weeks ago.

Hi and thank you for asking!
You are reporting to have brownish and yellownish diarrhea for one month.
I need to know if you used antibiotics after surgery?
Otherwise since it is one month with diarrhea you need to be examined with:
- fecal culture test and candida overgrowth
Meantime I suggest to use probiotics for at least twp weeks.

Is diarrhea a common after effect of having a lap Nissen surgery? I still have difficulty swallowing once in a while but it's getting better every day. Thank you for your help!

Hi back....
No, diarrhea is not related with your surgery Nissen surgery.
It is normal to have difficult swallowing after nissen surgery(due to edema). It will pass after a couple of weeks.
