I've Had Recurring Bitter Taste In My Mouth For About

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Sep 2020
Question: I've had recurring bitter taste in my mouth for about two months now. It tends to come and go without discernable cause and last for anywhere from a few days to multiple weeks. My sense of taste is not lost, just accompanied by this overarching bitterness. I've had normal brain MRI, a normal dental exam, and a normal examination by an ENT. I do have chronic rhinitis and a deviated septum. All blood tests have been normal as well. No doctor that I've seen has been able to help me with this issue, but it's becoming increasingly bothersome. Any advice I may be able to get here would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Dysgeusia possibly

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for choosing "Ask A Doctor" service for your query,
I've read your details,

The problem you are having is called Dysgeusia.
But this problem is usually secondary to any other problem usually chronic rhinitis or acid reflux disorder.

In your case chronic rhinitis is caused by Deviated nasal septum.
So get the septum surgically corrected so rhinitis could be controlled.

Do you suffer from any acid reflux?
Ever had heartburn?
Acid peptic disorder or Gastritis?

Waiting for reply.
Thanks!
