Question: Just realized this “thing” that suddenly bloomed, all itchy and burning on my hip, is probably shingles. I’m facing a joint surgery for an incisional hernia and escemic colon although no firm date set yet. Any idea how long after the scab phase before surgery is even possible? Also, can I transmit the shingles to another part of my body by touching?

Brief Answer:
Please consult a Physician

Detailed Answer:
Hi
The lesions over your Hip have to be diagnosed correctly.Physician will confirm the diagnosis.Once the Diagnosis is confirmed,we can discuss about it.
If at all it is shingles, it's better to wait till the lesions are completely gone.
It doesn't transmit from one area to another by touching.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult your Physician and get appropriate prescription.Anti viral treatment may be prescribed.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
