Question: Just saw the oral surgeon my tooth 15 has been hurting me ..it throbbed for two days but now I am aware of the tooth but not in a lot of pain..he told me to play it conservatively and wait to see if develops into anything..I have a report from the root canal doctor that I have attached..if there is an infection there can it be harmful to me systemically? The root doctor is saying extract the oral surgeon is saying wait.. but I do not want it to blow up into a big infection or affect any other teeth..right now there is no cold hot sensitivity no percussion pain but there is a fracture that the dentist said I probably had for a while..and there is a spot that showed up on the xray that was there in 2018 and 2019 but not in 2017..

Brief Answer:
If pain is there go for extraction .

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX ,
Thanks for consulting Ask a doctor service.
This is Dr. Priyanka tiwari answering your query .

I have read your query and gone through the reports you have attached . As far as i have observed there is radiolucency present in premolar that is 15 . As oral surgeon is saying you should wait and I will agree to it, if there is no pain. But if you have pain then it is good to go for extraction of tooth. If there is any increase in infection then you will feel pain. Do not be worried however it will not systemically harm you.

In the nutshell, I suggest that if you have pain then better you go for extraction .

Hope this will help you .

Brief Answer:
Nothing to be worried. Pain then go for extraction.

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,

Welcome

Calcified taurodont means tooth which have large bull shaped root & pulp chamber is calcified . It will not spread to other tooth. No, it will not go on its own .
For this I will suggest you if you have pain or you feel uncomfortable then go for extraction.

Hope this will help you .
If you have further query i will be happy to help.
