Question: Kindly forward this to a good cardiologist please.
Dear Doctor
Please forgive me for taking your valuable time. Kindly go through the following with patience and advise me .
I am 78 year old male.
conditions : I had IHD in 1977. I had T wave inversion in V4,V5 and V6 then . I have under gone ECG ,2 D echo and TMT in the year 2017 and all have come normal and TMT negative. I had mild hypertension since 1981.Further i have Type II diabetes and BPH in 2012 , 2014 respectively besides Hypothyroidsm since 2012.
Medication : Betacard 50 mg,Amtas 2.5 mg,Deplatt 75 mg,Urimax 0.4 mg ,Glycomet SR 500 mg twice , Atorva 10 mg and Thyronorm 50 mcg.
Lab Test report as on 16/12/20
Hb A1 c 6 Fasting 118 and PP 135 . Lipid profile: cholestrol 113, Tryglycerides 166, Hdl 46, Ldl 32 and Vldl 35 Creatinine 07 and uricacid 3.5 , Tsh 4.4
Clarifications on the follwoing required.
1. Tab Deplatt is prescribed in May 2017 and taking it since then.Earlier Ecosprin was taken from 1977 , which was stopped from May 2017.
Can i stop taking theDeplatt and start taking Ecosprin again since cholestrol is 113 or do i have to continue deplatt as Tryglycerides crossed the border line.
2.Will there be any harm if i continue Deplatt further?
3.since tryglycerides is on the high side (166), do i have to increase the dosage of Atorva from 10 mg to 20 mg ?
4. do i have to see the cardiologist here and undergo ecg before stopping Deplatt ?

Here are the answers to your queries.

1. Deplatt is superior to ecospirin better to continue with that.

2. No there won’t be.

3. Triglycerides are just slightly deranged and can be taken care with dietary modifications. No need to increase the dosage.

4. As your last checkup was in 2017 so you should personally consult a cardiologist and get a repeat ecg and echo done for proper assessment.
